Oyinade Elebute, Professor of Physiology (Nigeria)

As a teenager, Oyinade wanted to become a medical doctor, and the fact that Queen’s College didn’t offer sciences at that time could not stop her – she crossed over to the boys’ King’s College! Supported by an enterprising mother, she went on to study Medicine in the UK, coming top in her class. A pioneer medic at the Lagos Medical School, Oyinade is one of the foremost Professors of Medicine in Nigeria.
