Gladys Ashitey, Former Deputy Minister of Health, Ghana (Ghana)

As a young girl, Gladys had seen many patients wait for a long time in a hospital without being attended to because there was no doctor available. She had wished that someday she would become a doctor so she could give timely attention to her patients. She worked at the University of Ghana Medical School and the Ministry of Health in Ghana. She is a former elected parliamentarian and Deputy Minister in the government of President John Kufuor in Ghana.
